In the upper arm the median nerve follows the brachial artery (=A), more proximal in the axillary region it most frequently lies anteroradial to the artery. In the distal course, the nerve changes to the ulnar side.

At the wrist crease, the nerve lies between the flexor tendons superficially and is recognised by its typical honeycomb structure.
